Programme . Competitions . Directions . Money . Contacts . Versions -= Introduction =- Two parties down, so it's on to the next one. This is the third raww.orgy to be held in the UK, so the party subtitle is "raww.moregy - Threesome". Oh yeah. The date has moved back a little compared to last year to be much closer to the birthday of raww.org. As with both previous parties, space is limited - my lounge is small, but that just means that things are cosy. Party information can, as ever, be found at party.raww.org. I'll even try to make the rawwrum a little less spammable. Maybe. -= Dates =- The party will be held from Friday 9th February 2007 until Sunday 11th February 2007. That's 3 days (or two-and-a-half). England in February can be cold, but that just means that the beer will be too. -= Location =- As ever the party will be held in icabod's home in Yeovil, Somerset, UK. Yeovil is about an hour from Bristol, which can be handy if you're going to travel here by plane (biplane?). Accomodation will consist of sleeping bags and mattresses in the home of icabod - there are a couple "temporary" beds, sofas, and there's also a spare "real" bed. If that doesn't tempt you, I can provide details of local B&B's. Sleeping bags will be provided primarily for people coming from abroad, so that's one less thing to bring with you. Remember that due to space restrictions it's important that you let the organisers know if you plan to come to the party. Space is limited but we can always find room for visitors. -= Programme =- 09/02 @ 18:00 - Party starts 10/02 @ xx:00 - Demoscene day - compos and demos and 'puters and stuff. 11/02 @ 10:00 - Touristy stuff 11/02 @ xx:00 - Party ends. Go home (unless you're staying longer). Some people may like to do something "touristy" (hey, it's not every day you get to visit the UK), so we can decide this in the forum. In general, I'm quite easy with regards the plans. Last year we didn't manage to go anywhere on the Sunday due to crappy weather, but possible plans this year include a trip to the coast (it's very close). Last year also a couple guests stayed for a few more days. Sadly this isn't possible for this party... I have to get back to work on Tuesday. So if you're flying try to book your flights for some time on Monday, and I'll get you to the airport. -= Competitions =- :: ZX Graphics :: ZX AY Music :: ZX 256b Intro :: Prizes .: ZX Graphics :. It's your standard ZX Graphics competition. Get out your easels (oo-er) and get creative. The rules are: - Image must be in standard SCREEN$ format (6144 or 6912 bytes). - Original works only (as in, not ripped from demos, etc). Entries will be accepted as .scr files (a copy of ZX memory starting at 16384, of length 6144b (for b/w images) or 6912b (for colour images)), or as .gif images. If you really want to enter a multicolour/gigascreen/whatever image, then send it to me with a seperate loader as a .tap file - and send it early as I may be making a viewer like I did last year. Entries are accepted until the morning of Saturday 10th February 2007. .: ZX AY Music :. Hey, bet you can't guess what this is. The rules: - Tune should last no longer than 5 minutes. - (if we get bored, we may stop your tune early - heehee). - If the music loops, let us know how long it lasts up to the loop. - Tunes should be provided in the following formats: - any format playable by AY-Emulator Entries will be played on a real ZX Spectrum, probably converted to .vtx format (coz it's easy) unless you provide a player. Entries are accepted until the morning of Saturday 10th February 2007. .: ZX 256b Intro :. Write something cool in 256b? Sure, why not?! The rules: - The code-file of the intro must not be larger than 256 bytes. - The loader may not contain any code other than loading and running the code-file. - The Intro should be runnable on a ZX Spectrum +2. Entries will be run on a real ZX Spectrum +2 (grey-case). If the intro is for any other model of ZX, an emulator will be used. Entries are accepted until the morning of Saturday 10th February 2007. .: Prizes :. Those of you who follow such things will know that I did eventually get prizes sorted out for the last two parties. This year I hope to get them sorted out before the party so that I can present them to the winners, if they attend. If the winner does not attend the party I will send the prize by post when I can be bothered to do so. -= Directions =- Full details on directions will be provided at a later stage. If you're flying to the UK, it would help to fly to Bristol or Exeter airport, that way you can easily be collected. The party-place is not far from the A303, and there's a train link to London locally too. Local train stations are: Yeovil Junction (direct line from London Waterloo) Yeovil Pen Mill Taunton If you have any questions regarding travel within the UK, please contact the organisers. -= Money =- In the UK we try to shun being "European" and instead still use Pounds Sterling. If you bring Euro's with you they can easily be exchanged to "real money" with zero commission (I think). Other currencies are trickier to exchange. -= Contacts =- The party website is : http://party.raww.org/ You can also email the organisers: icabod - icabod@raww.org -= Versions =- v0.1 - The first version of this information file.
