---+=- raww.orgy :: 2009 -=+--- ---+ 06/02/2009 - 08/02/2009 +--- ----=+=- info file 0.1 -=+=---- -= Index =- . Introduction . Dates . Location . Programme . Competitions . Directions . Money . Contacts . Versions -= Introduction =- The whole announcement "thing" for raww.orgy is getting later and later every year. The party was semi-announced November, so as the party-date is so close I guess it's time to get the infofile done. Due to some changes in my (icabod's) circumstances (namely moving house and spawning offspring), the party venue will change from previous years, to a place in Exeter provided by rc55. How handy is that? The latest information should be available on the official party-page: http://party.raww.org/ Or check raww.org. -= Dates =- The party will be held from the evening of Friday 6th February 2008 until Sunday 8th February 2008. Two-and-a-half days, give or take the odd hour. As with previous years I will take at least a couple days off of work around the party in order to take people to airports and the like, so if you're travelling far, then heading home on Monday is always an option, as you can stay at my house on the Sunday night - although you may well be woken up in the middle of the night by a screaming child wanting their nappy changed (and no, I don't mean Gasman). -= Location =- As already mentioned, the location will be in Exeter, rather than my home in Yeovil - I'll confirm the address later on. My (new) home in Yeovil will be reserved as a back-up plan should things fall through. Accomodation will be things akin to inflatable mattresses and the like. Space is still likely to be slightly limited, so as always, please let us know if you're planning on coming along. -= Programme =- 06/02 @ 18:00 - Party starts, people arrive, beer is consumed. 07/02 @ 10:00 - Demoscene day - demos and 'puters and beer and stuff. 08/02 @ 18:00 - Party ends. Go home (unless you're staying longer). We'll be quite near the centre of Exeter, so if people feel like it we can pop into town for some beers, which is mostly always fun. -= Competitions =- :: ZX Graphics :: ZX AY Music :: ZX 256b Intro :: Prizes .: ZX Graphics :. It's your standard ZX Graphics competition, as featured in every good party. The rules are: - Image must be in standard SCREEN$ format (6144 or 6912 bytes). - OR intelaced (2x scr) format (12288 or 13824 bytes). - Original works only. Entries will be accepted as .scr/.tap/.$c files. If you don't know how to create them, contact me and I'll help. Entries are accepted until the morning of Friday 6th February 2009. .: ZX AY Music :. AY music, eh? Nice. The rules: - Tune should last no longer than 5 minutes. - Only write the music for single-AY (sorry, I don't have TurboSound). - Ideally provide your tunes in the following formats: - .pt2, .pt3, .stc, (or .sqt if you're Factor6) - If using Vortex Tracker II, please use the PT3.5 3xxx command-style. The music-player will be basically the same as last year, so please test your music using this program: http://party.raww.org/2008/playtest.zip Entries are accepted until the morning of Friday 6th February 2009. .: ZX 256b Intro :. Yes, the famous 256b Intro competition. The rules: - The code-file of the intro must not be larger than 256 bytes. - The loader may not contain any code other than loading and running the code-file. - The Intro should be runnable on a ZX Spectrum +2. Entries will be run on a real ZX Spectrum +2 (grey-case). Entries are accepted until the morning of Friday 6th February 2009. .: Prizes :. Prizes will only be for the first-place in each competition, and will be posted to the winners if they're not at the party. That said, the other day I had some returned post containing one of last years' prizes - I'll resend it shortly, when I've found a more reliable service to use. -= Directions =- If you're flying to the UK, it would help to fly to Bristol or Exeter airport, that way you can easily be collected. The party-place is not far from the A303, and there's a train link to London locally too. If you have any questions regarding travel within the UK, please contact the organisers. -= Money =- The Euro suxx, and here in the UK we know it only too well, so we stick to Pounds Sterling, or GBP, regardless of how bad the British economy is. However it is easy to exchange Euros into "real" money, so if you're coming from abroad then Euros may be your best option if you can't get GBP. If you are coming from abroad then it shouldn't be too expensive once you get here. Some money for beers and souvenirs, and some lunch and pizza of something if we go out and about. As the party isn't at my home, the visitors probably won't have to suffer my cooking this year. -= Contacts =- The party website is : http://party.raww.org/ You can also email the organisers: laesq - laesq@raww.org icabod - icabod@raww.org -= Versions =- v0.1 - The first version of this information file.
